reinstalling (and thus, upgrading) rc5 -> rc7 (when available)

hi there.

when i tried to upgrade rc5 to rc6 my ispcp installation got damaged. after some repairs is at leasts runs again, but there are still some problems.

i want to reinstall ispcp (when rc7 is available) and then upgrade to rc7
or is it better to install rc7 directly and recreate all users?

and what is the best way to do that?
how do i backup my users and their data the best way?

could anybody please tell me the steps i have to do?

Backup:
you need to save the following:
- /var/www/ (make sure that noone can change the content after backup)
- /var/mail/ (make sure the mail daemons are off)
- /var/lib/mysql (make sure mysql is stopped or better make dumps of the databases)
- /var/cache/bind
- /etc

did I miss something?

yeah i planned to backup everything and make dumps of the database.
then run the uninstall script so everything is rolled back to the state before the installation of ispcp
then install the rc7 (once if is compledted ofc)
add all users, use the databse dumps to restore them, and use the old password hashes to set the passwords for the databses and mail accounts (will this work?).

well this should be more or less what an update does...

Just remember: with RC7 the mail and sql passwords are also encrypted in the database...

I always do a manual update (as described in the wiki/docu as an nightly-update)

ok good to hear that i am on the right way, i hoped rc7 will be released before christmas (becausethen i have time to do this XD )
