PROFTPD ISSUES!!
Hello all,

I've searched through the forum and seen loads of issues with the configuration of PROFTPD and ISPCP.

I have changed a few settings in my confs as per the forum but still having issues.

Here's the error in the log:

Code:
exodus:/etc/ispcp/proftpd# tail -f /var/log/proftpd/proftpd.log

RE: PROFTPD ISSUES!!
Niceone,

I was missing a few things from that doc Smile

I think I have found the problem. How do I force ISPCP to use the /etc/ispcp/proftpd/proftpd.conf and not the v

I noticed this when I connect to the FTP server I get a prompt with the hostname "DEBIAN" and not "EXODUS". DEBIAN is configured in my /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf

RE: PROFTPD ISSUES!!
/etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf should be the right config.
If not and the /etc/ispcp/proftpd/proftpd.conf is parsed and ok (no {SERVER} Variables and stuff ) then just copy it over.

But :
Whats with the debug output.
Is your problem still persistent ?

RE: PROFTPD ISSUES!!
Got it sorted. Thanks for the info. Problem was with my /etc/proftpd.conf. Did not have all the SQL stuff.

Solution:

I copied the /etc/ispcp/proftpd/proftpd.conf to /etc/proftpd.conf and changed the "sQL variables" to reflect my install and bobs your uncle. All up and running. Not sure why the install did not fill all this in itself?

I still have a teasing DNS problem but I will post that later on when I troubleshoot is some more.

Cheers,

Rob
