RE: [HowTo] Replace courier with dovecot
If you want, sent me the main.cf master.cf and dovecot.conf files. I'll have a look.
But I think that you missed a part in the configuration, there's many people who followed this guide and works for them.

Cheers

You should rephrase you question, I don't understand what you're asking. Also you should post the related part of the logs into your post.

RE: [HowTo] Replace courier with dovecot
I've got a problem with the passwords.
I builded up ispCP 1.0.3 on a new server and use now dovecot instead of courier.
This should be the new one for replacing my old ispCP 1.0.2 with courier.

Instead of migrating from a to b I reconfigured everything completely at the new server and copied all the encrypted passwords from the old database to the new one.
Now all the mailpasswords doesn't match.
I also tested it with setting the known password in the old ispCP again and copy it again to the new database - doesn't work.
When I set up the same password again for the mailaccount in the new ispCP with dovecot it works...

How am I able to 'refresh' all my old passwords to the new system?

RE: [HowTo] Replace courier with dovecot
Yes, I installed ispcp-dovecot-mngr and did the chmod to it.
Which logfiles you like to see?

In mail.err I can see entries like these:
Feb 28 03:19:21 tns dovecot: auth(default): dovecot: Bad password for username admin@teranetwork.eu from 213.61.163.180 for IMAP server

When I create the password with ispcp 1.0.2 using courier and paste it from the old ispcp database (mail_user table) directly to the database on the new system (ispcp 1.0.3 with dovecot) it generates this error.
I override the password on the new system with the same one directly in ispcp and everything's fine. Also the password-lengh seems to be the same (the encrypted one in the database)

RE: [HowTo] Replace courier with dovecot
Hmmm, okay - I've got more problems and they are too much to resolve in the short time to have both servers online. The thing is that I migrate to a new system for deactivating the old one and this should happens within this day.
The old directories are within completely different formats (eg .Sent/cur/) and the migration-script from dovecot org doesn't resolve it to something like mail/Sent/
So I would have soo much to do - I will migrate firstly to the new server and realize dovecot at another time...

My way was to put through the update to 1.0.4 and now I have courier back and everything's fine again. Hope that I have the time to realize dovecot, roundcube, sieve and pwchanger soon

Maybe it had something to do with the encryption, I'd check the upgrade instructions, it's possible that you forget to copy one of the important files, and the installer generated a new one, leaving your password useless ...
