Runs 2.4.8rc1 under Etch ??
Hello Everybody,

my RootServer is now ready to install and the customers wont wait.
At this time Omega is not ready, because PHP won´t work.
I tested a installation today from trunk rev.280.

So my Question. Runs the VHCS 2.4.8rc1 under Etch or only under Sarge.
Im not sure with Etch, but there will only be some weeks and Etch
runs as stable. The most Bugs are in Software i am not using.
A dist-upgrade is everytime critical. So ETCH is my first
choice for a brandnew server.

Is there a Updatefunction from 2.4.8rc to Omega?
There are some new Packages to....

Has anyone reports about my adventure?

Cheers

RE: Runs 2.4.8rc1 under Etch ??
well i suppose from 2.4.8 Rc1 to Omega(hmmfg, 2.4.8 rc1 = omega...? ) wouldn't be such a big problem, i think you mean with omega the 2.4.8 Final, wich shouldn't be a big difference (well bugs squashed etc.) so probaly it's not a big deal to update..

and about if it runs with etch, try it!
get vmware or something, make a clean etch install (net install) and try it Smile

RE: Runs 2.4.8rc1 under Etch ??
I looks very good.
My rootserver based on sarge. I Added the Etch source and execute apt-get dist-upgrade. After hundreds of new packages and some minutes later, vhcs 2.4.8rc1 is running. Some errors on vhcs2-setup but i works.

First i make a Backup of all and start Testing Smile

The Question about the Upgrade -> the main problem for me is the fast-cgi.
But we will see waht happend with/after uprading to Omega.
