ephigenie Wrote:I'm just wondering how mod_fastcgi handles php - childs (and kills them ?)
The problem is that the socket shared between parent and childrens it's removed when the parent process is killed with TERM (signal 15), the childs remains alive and "orphans" waiting for a new request which will never come because the socket don't exist and this produce error 500 Sad
The only way to kill the childs processes is using the KILL (signal 9) on them.

This is related as a bug in http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=40286
and also offer a patch to php5.2 Wink
