i find version 1 clear and better than version 2.
Icons and text on the same collumn looks like a mess.

navigation2 is better
Now it has published only quickly, before IPv6 starts. This is supposed to be already in about 10 days.

An additional Wish for Navigation 2:
If the Navigation hae some subnavigation, the background of the subnavigation should be colord a little lighter than the rest of the menubar.
In such way, its much more usable, cause you can see with only one look, which navigation-part is actualy choosed.

I don't aggree on this one.

The menu can be built dynamicly.
You basicly only need a dataset.

The sub-templates decide how the page should look like.
(The Top Menu only runs through the Mainlevel)
The Sublevel is displayed (only the active level)

On the other hand you just use a treemenue with the active element.
