its normal, because Linux tries to make as much use of the available ram as possible.
In your case of the 3169432k actually used ram, 2212784k are used for caching only some things only.
So absolutely nothing to worry

If your ram is 100% used and nothing is cached ... and the Swap usage is getting high ( >200M+ ) then you are hitting the limits of the machine in terms of your ram.
