I think it's better to keep frontend/backend separated because they use different languages and have different requirements.

I tried myself to use it for a "command line" client and discovered that reuse of the code is blocked by the way things are hard-coded to the user experience in the browser (i.e... there's no separation between ispcp logic and user navigation logic).
