Upgrade to RC4

SO i am at the point now where i am suppose to copy over the /tmp/etc /etc

Now i want to do this during the daytime, as i do not want to work overtime.

I am using the ispcp-update script..

So if i simply copy the above to the above, it will kill all the courier and postfix config files and people will not be able to pop and mail will get rejected due to mailboxes not being in the mailbox file.... I do understand that after wards it will regenerate the files , but meantime there will be down time..... so my question is, can i omit copying these file over, or does the new version of RC4 change the syntax of these files and it has be done?

and if i CAN omit them do i still have to do the mysql commands to chnage from OK
