[ERLEDIGT] proftpd Fehler

Habe hier ein echtes Problem - ist ein Produktivsystem ...

Beim FTP Login mit Client, kann ich mich einloggen - verzögert allerdings sehr.
Dazu diese Meldung in auth.log:
proftpd: (pam_unix) check pass; user unknown

Über Filemanager kein Login möglich - bekomme folgenden Fehler:

Unable to login to FTP server localhost with username ftp@xxxxxxxx.xx

Your task was stopped

Try to split your task in smaller tasks: restrict your selection of files, and omit the biggest files.

habe das mit verschiedenen Logins versucht, geht nicht mehr ...
Die proftpd.conf habe ich auch noch von einem Backup von vorgestern versucht, keine Änderung.

könnte es etwas mit /etc/pam.d/proftp zu tun haben?
