Sick of Proftpd problems

Hi mates,

A completely rigorous stastistical analysis of the forum posts (based on my feeling ) states that among the help asking threads, more than 50% are related to Proftpd . Thus, we should be really pissed of by this situation, and either (1) kill every user out there that experiences proftpd problems, (2) kill proftpd authors themselves and then switch to another ftp solution or (3) fix all the proftpd-related issues once and for all.

In fact, maybe the issues are fixed with the lastest 1.0 re-release, but there are still a great deal of users comming to the forum with these ProFTPd problems (trying to install old versions?). My point is that we should, at least, fill this wiki page in the docs about known proftpd problems and their solution. This would prevent most helpful community members (BeNe, ephigenie, rbtux et al.) from suffering a nervous collapse, which is an obvious advantage to all of us

We can beat the ProFTPd monster together!
