To Speed up your ProFTPD, Follow the Commands:

vi /etc/proftpd.conf

add the following lines:

UseReverseDNS off

<Global>

IdentLookups off

</Global>

save the file
&
Now restart ProFTPD or Reboot

Your FTP Server should now run faster
