und - lag es an der fehlenden Tabelle?
Falls es immer noch hängt, schau mal in Deine /etc/mysql/my.cnf
Hatte da mal ein ähnliches Problem wobei ich folgende Zeilen deaktivieren musste:
/etc/init.d/mysql stop
>
interactive_timeout = 100
wait_timeout = 100
connect_timeout = 10

und die Zeile aktivieren:
log_bin = /var/log/mysql/mysql-bin.log
<
/etc/init.d/mysql start
