Разобрался. Проблема была в файле где хранится зона.
Отсюда просьба поправить еще одну ошибку в руководстве:
5) В пункте 1.5 строку
vi /var/cache/bind/ddns.tld
заменить на
vi /var/cache/bind/ddns.tld.db
