das update von 8.04 32-bit auf 8.10 64-bit auf meinem notebook war auch eher ein rückschritt... weiss jetzt nichts obs an 64-bit oder 8.10 liegt. aber ich hab abundzu probleme mit dem networkmanager welche ich vorher nie hatte...

Falls du auch gerne mal bastelst ist gentoo zu empfehlen...
