if you open the whole record in pma (as if you want to edit it) then you should see the whole text (or klick in the top-left cornder of the displayed table (show full text fields...) (it's a "T").

yes - I assume it's "bin/etc/ password | saslpassw2 ..." or something similar - but it's easier if we know the eact message.
