New 1.0.4 installation hangs on admin login

I recently destroyed my system trying to upgrade and didn't have time to try and rebuild it. I've removed the older version to reinstall as a new installation.

Upon completing the installation it says everything was ok and to login.
When I try and login the page either hangs and loads forever or gives me a 500 error.

Can someone please help me out to fix this as I have customers who want to get back online.

I have some errors regarding mod_fcgid

[Wed Mar 17 00:21:41 2010] [notice] mod_fcgid: process 10261 going graceful shutdown, sending SIGTERM
[Wed Mar 17 00:21:47 2010] [notice] mod_fcgid: process /var/www/ispcp/gui/index.php(10261) exit(communication error), terminated by calling exit(), return code: 0

I'm also getting:
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20060613/curl.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20060613/curl.so: cannot open shared object file:

I haven't altered anything on my installation, simply removed ispcp that was originally installed.
