German Translation - Problem installing it.

Hi there,

I tried to finish some of the translations for the german language file using kbabel. Everything worked fine, but due to the fact, that there are some messages better translated within the context of the website I tried to upload it onto my icpCP Panel using the multilanguage interface.

Unfortunately I always see the following error message:

"Can not read ispcp language file!"

I renamed the po file to german.txt as suggested in an other thread, but the problem persists. I'm pretty sure the syntax is OK, but perhaps somebody else might want ot have a look at the file:

I'm using "ispCP 1.0rc2 OMEGA build: 2007-04-18 Priamos" I'm glad for every suggestion, that could help me installing this file.

Hi BeNe,

I read until "If you've translated Unix/Linux applications before, you might already know the GNU gettext tool library. If you do, you can immediately start translating by using the .po files in the languages-files directory. If you are new to the GNU gettext tool library and concepts, read on."

But thanks to your hint I found the vital information on the bottom of the howto file. The file needs to be converted before uploading it. I though ispCP does this automagically and the error message confused me

But now it works. Thus please stand by, as full german translation will be available soon.

Hi there, i just wanted to ask, if you are going to take the latest language files from the trunk as a base for your translation.

I am asking, because i made the mistake to take the language file listed on the page here and not the one right out of the actual trunk. So i was wondering why one language file had about 200 translations and another about 900

Hi Diggo,

I downloaded the file from this URL:

Can someone please verify this is OK? If you try to download the file without "?format=raw" option the file is incomplete, but this seems to be a known problem. Anyway the version I downloaded came with 196 untranslated messages. Thus I think this is quite up-to-date.

Yes, with "?format=raw" is right.

I have this in the current de_DE.po File
-> 1154 Zeichenketten (79 unklar, 0 Ungülitg, 180 nicht übersetzt)
