Segfaulting php5-cgi + Internal 500 Error

I have the 6 dec nightly build installed - and it seems unstable as hell!

Earlier I got a lot of intermittent 500 errors in this style with this in /var/log/apache2/error.log:

I increased the limitations in accordance to http://www.vpsforum.se/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13 , and now I get this in /var/log/syslog upon every page load:

Now I have restored it to the default values, but I still get the segfaults!

The web pages shows internal error 500 upon these errors.

php5-cgi -i reports version PHP/5.2.3-1ubuntu6.2

What is up with this?

Why is there no explanation available anywhere in the logs to these errors?
