Can't start proftpd

I can't start proftpd after installing ispCP. I guess the problem is because of incorrect value in "SQLConnectInfo" in config. Should I write the raw password there for vftp user or crypted?

ProFTPD Version 1.2.10
System: Debian sarge

Why don't you use Debian Etch?

Because I use VPS and they didn't install etch. I asked my provider about that.

But you can upgrade via apt-get dist-upgrade.

The problem is not why i use sarge. The problem is why i can't start proftpd =)

well what about logfiles? they could help... start proftpd with the command proftpd -n -d 5 and show the output... I think its a nameresolving problem...

have you enabled ipv6 but don't have support for it in the kernel (or in the vnet interface)?

disable ipv6 (UseIPv6 off) in /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf

sarge is mostly unsupported now. You should better use etch or above
