is there a site preview path to look before a dns switch is made?
This is a question that returns more than once, what is the recommended solution for people that want to preview a newly added domain (that is moving to the server from another server) without having switched their dns ?

So assume http://www.website.com is a live website, and they want to move it to my server.

1) create the account and they can upload everything, import their databases etc.

2) ??? they want to preview their website ??

3) switch dns servers to new server

i'm curious to see how you solve this!

you are right!

please read the earlier discussions about this. there are some suggestions.

For me, the ServerAlias with the vu2xxx seems the best.

You must change in the /etc/ispcp/apache/parts/dmn_entry.tpl this line
Code:
ServerAlias     www.{DMN_NAME} {DMN_NAME} *.{DMN_NAME}

to:
Code:
ServerAlias     www.{DMN_NAME} {DMN_NAME} *.{DMN_NAME} {SUEXEC_USER}.hostdomain.tld

Regenerate your files and the site should be online under vu20XX.hostdomain.tld as Customerdomain.

This should be implemented to ispCP as Standard.
