RE: Packages in CentOS
Courier's SMTP service shouldn't be running. Are you sure you removed the other Courier packages?

You can try running "alternatives --display mta" and see what CentOS is trying to use for mail.

RE: Packages in CentOS
this is the output of alternatives --display mta:

Code:
[root@server1 ~]# alternatives --display mta
mta - Status ist auto.
Link verweist auf /usr/lib/courier/bin/sendmail
/usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix - Priorität 30
Slave mta-pam: /etc/pam.d/smtp.postfix
Slave mta-mailq: /usr/bin/mailq.postfix
Slave mta-newaliases: /usr/bin/newaliases.postfix
Slave mta-rmail: /usr/bin/rmail.postfix
Slave mta-sendmail: /usr/lib/sendmail.postfix
Slave mta-mailqman: /usr/share/man/man1/mailq.postfix.1.gz
Slave mta-newaliasesman: /usr/share/man/man1/newaliases.postfix.1.gz
Slave mta-aliasesman: /usr/share/man/man5/aliases.postfix.5.gz
Slave mta-sendmailman: /usr/share/man/man1/sendmail.postfix.1.gz
/usr/lib/courier/bin/sendmail - Priorität 91
Slave mta-pam: (null)
Slave mta-mailq: /usr/lib/courier/bin/mailq
Slave mta-newaliases: /usr/lib/courier/sbin/makealiases
Slave mta-rmail: /usr/lib/courier/bin/rmail
Slave mta-sendmail: (null)
Slave mta-mailqman: (null)
Slave mta-newaliasesman: (null)
Slave mta-aliasesman: (null)
Slave mta-sendmailman: (null)
Zur Zeit ist die `best' Version /usr/lib/courier/bin/sendmail.

it's a bit strange... but absolutly everything is working. I created a new mail user, sent a mail to him from inside and outside, and everything was fine....

RE: Packages in CentOS
another strange thing:

if i install postgrey over yum, it doesn't run on port 60000 - it opens a socket.

So you have to change
check_policy_service inet:127.0.0.1:60000,
to
check_policy_service unix:postgrey/socket,

in /etc/postfix/main.cf
