nagios vs zabbix

is it possible to use nagios/centreon (as server) on a local pc to monitor webserver clients from outside?
I like to use different notifications here and a solution for secure data parsing. Also best performance without high load from monitoring tools - which solution did you suggest - nagios or zabbix?
