smtp didn't start

first time! Sorry for my english
Second time the question:
My smtp is not running! Can someone help me?
Postfix is allready installed, imap and pop3 is running.
SPAMASSASSIN installed and running.
amavis installed and running.

My OS is debian etch.

How do you know your smtp is not running? (error message)

What does your /var/log/mail.log say?
