maia install problem after upgrade to Lenny
I am now running Debian Lenny and ispCP 1.0.0.

I tried to go back through the maia guide to see if I could fix amavisd. Postfix will not send or receive email with it enabled.

I purged my system of amavisd-new and amavis and now when I install amavisd-new it fails to start after installation.

It says it cannot locate a port to run on.

There is no longer a amavisd.conf file anymore with the new amavisd-new. Is there someone who can help me with the new method of configuration since the howto references the old way of doing it?

Thanks!

Lannie

How to is for PUBLISHING HowTos NOT for requests. Last warning, next time topics will be deleted without any warning.

If you ask for support ->ISPCP Omega Support Area. For me Usage is better
If you want to contribute -> ispCP Omega Contributions Area. For me it seems clear enough.

Maia comes with an own AMaVis daemon! The original AMaVis daemon doesn´t work if you only installed or reinstall the AMaVis. You need to copy the Maia files over again.

Do you think I would be better off removing maia completly than using the install script found on this site instead?

Lannie

PS Thanks, for moving my post to here. Smile appreciated.
I went through the howto again and it is still failing at the step where I install amavisd-new.

It appears I had manually deleted the amavis home directory. I deleted the account and ran the install again and now it installed and started the service. I will continue on from here and see how it goes.

Sometimes it helps to step away for a while. Smile hehe

RE: maia install problem after upgrade to Lenny
I was wondering if those errors are good or bad? Should I enable support for those items?

DONE!

Thanks!!

The system is SOO much faster than before. with etch it as slow all the time and most of it was clamav or ntop. I remove ntop and clamav seems to be behaiving itself.

The only thing left is this line:

file(1) : N/A : NOT INSTALLED (required by Maia Mailguard)

I have no idea what it means by file(1). I was able to install all the other modules but this one and it worried me since it says required my maia.

Any ideas?

Lannie
