RE: Using Dynamic IP on Omega
Hi, i am a noob so don't know if this is correct, but i installed with local ip 192.168.x.xxx and edit both /etc/network/interfaces to make it static plus add ip, netmask, broadcast and etc. then reboot after i edit /etc/hosts.

If you need to know your public ip you can google "what is my ip" and that should work for you.

Hope that helps FullJoy

Local ip do not change (as far as i know ) but the public one does change at times. As far as modify goes i would assume that your talking about updating ispcp whenever your public ip change, right? Well i have no idea about that, i am still learning and tweaking things at the moment.

For me i use Zoneedit to manage my dns but as far as automatically updating ispcp and zoneedit with new ip i am lost at the moment.

I hope the more experience members can give you a helping hand.

yeap, if you are using zoneedit to send the request of your client webpage to your server (where the web page are ), the best solutions is to install a little software called ddclient which works toghether with zoneedit, if your IP changes , then ddclient changes it automatically in zoneedit in less than a second.

try apt-get install ddclient
