Website in Subfolder

Hi everybody,

a client is preparing a new Website with Joomla. This page is located in a
subfolder of htdocs. If I call http://www.domain.tld/new-site/index.php it shows the error 404.

Is there something wrong or does this folder need special permissions?

normally - if you create a subdomain, the folder is /subdomain - but this is in reality:

<vu-user-home>/subdomain/htdocs/

and the main domain is:
<vu-user-home>/htdocs/

So - there's no way to get the subdomain-site from the main domain.

Of course - you can change the path, but if you know how, you also know hao to answer the question :-)
