Something wrong - A LOT of memory usage.

I have just finished installing my ispCP Omega instance. It doesn't look right. When I login, it says that 320MB of the 384MB I have allocated in my VM is being used up. This seems quite high as my DirectAdmin VPS only uses 216MB or somthing like that and that is with live traffic (this is only on my local machine).

Setup:
CentOS 5.3
PHP 5.2.6
Mysql 5.0.58
Courier
ProFTPd (not running after install for some reason)
SSH
Telnet removed

I don't know why but this installation seems to be using a lot of resources, but I was under the impression that the 'footprint' is less than DirectAdmin.

Am I wrong?

Does ispCP not boast a smaller footprint than other control panels though?

post the output of free... everything that is accounted under cached can be considered free ram...

The panel has no big memory footprint itself. You need to look at the services (apache, mysql etc.)

Ahh... I see. I'm only using 151MB, so it does have a much smaller footprint than the commercial panels.

PS - I really like the look & feel of this panel so far. I've used Plesk (as a user, not admin), Cpanel as a Reseller and User and DirectAdmin as Admin, Reseller and User.

Out of the three, I much prefer DirectAdmin. However, this is quite a nice panel too. I would say it ranks up there with DA. Has a easier UI (so far).

Only time will tell I guess.
