If by "official name" you mean the fqdn associated to the IP (reverse dns of IP), which is the advantadge of doing so?

If by "official name" you mean the name servers associated to the domain registry, then you may have a point. But what happens when the domain doesn't exist or something like this?

I added a new account tehnoidei.ru, ispcp debugger shows the error:
tehnoidei.ru - Set status to "change"
sys_command() | ERROR: External command '/bin/cp -p /etc/bind/named.conf /etc/ispcp/bind/backup/named.conf.1253173788' returned '128' status !
