ARP activity watch

Arpwatch is an open-source software that monitors a computer network for ARP-activity. The first and foremost reason to monitor ARP activity is to detect ARP spoofing. It syslogs activity and reports certain changes via email. Arpwatch uses LibPcap to listen for ARP packets on a local ethernet interface.

If you installed arpwatch it send email notification when interfaces changed ...
to root alias mailbox.
You can also checkout man arpwatch ...
