RE: NFS advice
OK so I couldnt get 2 web servers to co-exist with 1 mail server under ispcp omega. Not suprised as it isn't designed to manage a multiserver environment but no harm in checking lol

RE: NFS advice
rsmithgs, thanks for the effort. Much appreciated.

However, according to the FAQ pages here, it was recommended that you keep email and control panel on the same server:

Maybe we can agree on a best scenario or use case?

I would hve thought that Ideally you would keep everything on the same server as that is how ISPCP Omega is designed. Same as it is recommended to use Debian though people still use Fedora etc.

Think its a case of this is what we can support but if you need a bespoke solution you can go away and do it yourself. The beauty of Opensource Smile

Oh no by all means, I am very interested in your write up in achieving a multi server setup. Especially one via VMWare (btw, I'll be trying it with VPC). However, what else is on the cards? Do you plan on splitting up the database server into a separate server?

The reason I added the link above is to point out what others have done. Most people would want to split email, webserver, database, and storage into separate parts no? Is this what you are aiming to do?

I tried to split the mysql server though due to various bits of code in ISPCP Omega which I believe was inherited it doesn't work, Raphael was going to address this lol

Edit : As for the actual web storage, interesting but unless your moving the data to a SAN I can't see a point? Though ISPCP Omega servers onto one san might be interesting.

Further Edit : Once the changes to the hard code links are made, using an external database should be easy.

Fair play, wonder if anyone wants to try installing several ispcp servers onto a centralised san storage lol
