Change the mysql host.

How can i change mysql host because a client wanted to connect from his desktop with SQL manager program and he didn't managed to. I would like the config of the host to be based on ip address

127.0.0.1 -> localhost
MY.SRV.IP -> hostname of the server

Can this be done?
