That should not be a problem. But first we have to think about the structure of wiki or make a Wikiteam, where take a look over the entries. Else we become a big chaos in the Wiki.

I thought I'd try to be useful and put some stuff in the wiki, can't figure out how to start new articles, do I need a Trac user account?

No, you don't need an account. In into the Wiki and read the doc about the Wiki. It's really easy.

Yeah I eventually figured it out but when submitting I'm getting the message

Submission rejected as potential spam (Akismet says content is spam)

edit : Figured it out

Might do a wiki entry on editing the wiki lol
