forward mail from ispcp to exchange
Hi all. I want to forward mails coming to ispcp to exchange and I added mx record. It works ONLYif the mails come from outside (such as gmail, hotmail) but when I try to send mail from a different domain in ispcp (ispcp includes two domain), I get this error.

Message not sent. Server replied:
Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
550 5.1.1. Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table

How can I solve this problem.

RE: forward mail from ispcp to exchange
This is because postfix still thinks that the domains are locally managed, so it tries to deliver them to local mailboxes that doesn't exist.

If *all* your domains are handled by the exchange server, the easiest thing to do involves some configuration changes in "/etc/postfix/main.cf". Basically, you want to comment out the "virtual_mailbox_domains" and "virtual_mailbox_maps" directives and restart postfix.

Notice that these changes tell postfix that ALL the domains setup by ispcp are handled externally, so it's not a good option if you have some domains for which the server should handle their mails...

And what to do if I have several domains for which the server handle their mails ? Smile I have same problem and can't resolve this by myself.

RE: forward mail from ispcp to exchange
If you have both locally managed and g-mail managed domains, then for the exchange ones you have to:

1. Make sure that the DNS MX records point to the exchange server. To achieve that in ispcp, update both "/etc/ispcp/bind/working/domain.tld.db" *and* "/var/cache/bind/domain.tld.db" (don't forget to update the serial!!). Then run "rndc reload domain.tld" and check that "host -tMX domain.tld" run from the server correctly returns the exchange hostname/ip.
2. Comment out the domain from both "/etc/ispcp/postfix/working/domains" *and* "/etc/postfix/ispcp/domains".
3. Run "postmap /etc/postfix/ispcp/domains".
4. Reload postfix (/etc/init.d/postfix reload) just to make sure that the changes are acknowledged.

... and that should do it. Post your logs if it's not working for you.

RE: forward mail from ispcp to exchange
Run "host -tMX damatest.info" on the server and check the output (hint: is shows the server itself as the mail server for this domain). Then re-perform "step 1" above and everything should work Wink
