Downtime: My server 500 ERROR

Staff, in it I finish day 3, days of downtime, started to have problem with 500 server ERROR Internal Error, I made nothing, and in the day that the site of the ISPCP came back to air. My server came back to function normal, what the program searchs periodically in the site? explication has some?

There was a problem with fcgi. The timeout of fcgi is set to 30 secs, and the update function, that looks at isp-control.net for updates, has a longer timeout.
