A few questions about VHCS Omega.
I need a control panel for a server that I manage. I only manage about 9 sites on it right now and I don't plan on many more any time soon. I just want something to help make simple changes easier and faster for myself and anyone else that may need to make changes.

What is the suggested flavor of linux to use with VHCS and VHCS Omega? Should I start with VHCS or the VHCS Omega Trunk?

Then Omega is the right for you Wink

It works (is programmed) on/for Debian Etch also Gentoo and ubuntu should work in the future.

The trunk is very bugy at the moment. You can use 2.4.8 RC1.

That is good because Debian is my preferred flavor. i usually use the Stable branch but Etch should also work just fine. I am a bit confused though. Do you suggest that I use VHCS now and upgrade to Omega later or use the Trunk now?

You should use VHCS OMEGA 2.4.8 RC1 from here -> http://www.isp-control.net/ispcp/browser/tags
You can download it by a svn-client or as a nightly-builds on the site!

Thank you. I will install Etch and give it a shot on my test server.

RE: A few questions about VHCS Omega.
@bene please do not point to the download link in the trac anymore - that one is quite ressource intensive because the zip is generated on a "per request base" .

While generating such a zip apache loads the trunk complete into mem
In the last days the site was heavy loaded because of that - (apache ate ~ 1,5Gbyte Ram on some days) so i removed the links and have installed the nightly-builds.

Normal Svn access is ok - most people do only checkout once and then only update this is no problem Smile .
FYI on Sunday i upgraded the server to etch (and it works seemlessly with vhcs Omega Smile ) Since using apache2.2 the load dropped a bit back to normal areas Wink

Malte, can you please add the VHCS 2.4.8 RC1 download on the DL page?

RE: A few questions about VHCS Omega.
ok - its done
keep in mind - that there's also the old & buggy webmail & filemanager.
I would remove them and replace them with the ones out of omega if i were you.
