Domains on local system
Hi,

I installed ISPCP nightly from 13.1 on a complete clean Debian Etch system. The name of the server is david.local. So there should be under admin.david.local the admininterface but it isn´t ("Unknown host admin.david.local"). But under david.local I can log into ISPCP

If I call nslookup admin.david.local it says, it is on my machine (192.168.0.15) But if I call it via Browser, it is not possible. traceroute also says "Unknown host admin.david.local"
Bind is running on port 53.

ifconfig says :
Code:
eth0      Protokoll:Ethernet  Hardware Adresse 00:30:BD:B9:55:80
          inet Adresse:192.168.0.15  Bcast:192.168.0.255  Maske:255.255.255.0
          inet6 Adresse: fe80::230:bdff:feb9:5580/64 Gültigkeitsbereich:Verbindung
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST  MTU:1500  Metric:1
          RX packets:2339 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:2163 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          Kollisionen:0 Sendewarteschlangenlänge:1000
          RX bytes:1129542 (1.0 MiB)  TX bytes:346328 (338.2 KiB)
          Interrupt:11 Basisadresse:0x9800

lo        Protokoll:Lokale Schleife
          inet Adresse:127.0.0.1  Maske:255.0.0.0
          inet6 Adresse: ::1/128 Gültigkeitsbereich:Maschine
          UP LOOPBACK RUNNING  MTU:16436  Metric:1
          RX packets:29374 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:29374 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          Kollisionen:0 Sendewarteschlangenlänge:0
          RX bytes:1787194 (1.7 MiB)  TX bytes:1787194 (1.7 MiB)
Under DNS I inserted "192.168.0.15" and "127.0.0.1"

Any ideas, what I´m doing wrong?

Thansk in advance

RE: Domains on local system
Do you sit in front of the Server ?
I mean you did not try to connect from an other client to your ispCP?!
Set this "admin.david.local" in in your hosts file under /etc and try it again.

RE: Domains on local system
have you set the local machine as default dns server in your ip configuration (/etc/resolv.conf)

RE: Domains on local system
using .local as domain name is always dirty... even worse when macintoshes are around...
