Transfering Data
Hi

Just finished setting up a new server running Debian 4 and ispCp RC7.

I have a sever running Debian 4 and ispCP 1.0rc2 can I backup and restore the :

Database - assuming I use the same passwords
Domains, websites & Emails attached to them
Zone files

/var/lib/mysql - msql database
/var/www/virtual - websites
/var/mail/virtual - physical mail
/etc/ispcp/postfix/ - mail settings & configs
/etc/ispcp/bind/working - Zone 1
/var/cache/bind - Zone 2
/etc/ispcp/bind/parts/db_e.tpl - Zone tpl file
/var/www/ispcp/gui/domain_default_page - domain home page

Where are the following stored:
1. the config file that lets you set default.htm/l or index.htm/l
or index.php as default start ups for websites
2. Where is webmail stored
3. do I need to backup /etc/apache2/sites-available/ispcp.conf

Can you tell me if I forgot anything?

And what is the best way to do it. Not running a graphical interface or KDE desktop. Do have a DVD writer in the machine.

Thanks for all the assistance

RE: Transfering Data
I would upgrade the old server to RC7 and then migrate to the new server following one of the howtos here in the forum or in the docu.

That sounds good, just scared that something goes wrong in the migration. What's the best course of action to take before the migration? And is there a Howtos for the migration?

Thanks, awesome. That takes care of the server to server transfer.

But what about the migration?
