makeuserdb is part of this package:

courier-authlib-userdb

"apt-get install courier-authlib-userdb" should do it.

(Did you install all needed packages? - see INSTALL docu)

use the version you did download! the above is for 1.0.1.

Important ist point 9 in the docu:

Quote:9. Install the Courier IMAP server. Packages for this are not in the default
repositories, but are available from third-party packagers such at at

versions as of the last update, but you should check the package list at the
previous site to make sure you have the latest versions.
