How high are the actual RAM requirements? I mean how much RAM does ispCP Omega really consume?

I'm looking for an affordable vServer solution and I don't want all RAM to be eaten up.

How do the famous Parallels Plesk and Confixx compare?

How many Services and Site should later run on this Server ?
To be really happy >=1024MB RAM. You can also try to use less but make no sense in my eyes.

Whoops thats a lot. Considering I have a low level server (256MB + 512 dynamic) with at least PHP/Zend Framework *and* JBoss 5 or Tomcat 6 running... Sad

I guess my server is too small.

However, this is not a real production server but one that is used to be almost exclusively used for my own website and a demo app.

Hmmm hmm...

Do other web admin tools require a similar amount?

As i said - you can also try it with less RAM. Here are also some user around with a small vServer and that works, too.

With some modifictions, you can run it on 256mb Ram Server without big problems.

Yes, just try it out, u can easily run some low traffic websites on a low resource system with ispcp.

Since I won't be doing much webadmin stuff when all my stuff is running, can't I just stop ispCP from running? I could just restart it when I need it occasionally, right? This seems to somewhat eliminate what a web admin tool is made for, however I plan to really not use it that often.

Even if I won't do it, I'll trust you for my low traffic website. This is not intended for any other users and/or reselling.

A web hoster just told me Plesk would approximately take up ~50 MB of RAM. Compared to what I read about ispCP this is a real reason against using ispCP, as long as the representative is right.

Are there any plans of reducing the payload of ispCP? It's really a decision factor for low level vserver hosting (as it is for me).

ispCP itself doesn't use any RAM (well, maybe a few KBs for the daemon), and there's no need to shut it down since it's just a normal PHP website, so it's already on-demand.
The RAM requirements stated above are general for a webserver.

50 MB RAM for a WebServer mit PHP, MySQL-Server, FTP-Server, MailServer and DNS Server ? Come on... Rolleyes

As i said, you can run it also on a less RAM System but does it make really sense ? RAM doesn´t cost that much.
