RE: install directory problem
You haven't followed *all* the installation steps. Concretely, you've skipped -at least- the step 5.

RE: install directory problem
Yes i skip step 5 because its also says "No such file or directory".
I never thought step 5 was so important, i think it was for own security reason.

RE: install directory problem
I said *at least*, and yes... every step in the installation guide is essential. Now, if you get a "file does not exist" in step 5, it means that you also missed *at least* step 4 too (or it errored and you ignored the error).

Follow the guide thoroughly and show us any errors you get if it doesn't work.

The following line will be added to your /etc/inetd.conf file:

ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/sbin/proftpd

If you are indeed using xinetd, you will have to convert the
above into /etc/xinetd.conf format, and add it manually. See
/usr/share/doc/xinetd/README.Debian for more information.
Suggested entry (automatically converted using itox):

service ftp
{
socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
wait = no
user = root
You must use option -daemon_dir if you use tcpd

Are you kidding me or what's wrong with you?

You must execute step 4 before step 5 (you didn't!).

It's not that difficult...
