FreeRadius Server
Hi

Has anyone thought of adding FreeRadius Server. That way we could do Dialup accounts as well as Broadband accounts and have one unifide system to control system and database.

RE: FreeRadius Server
Hi Nomis
IMHO this only makes sense for a few isp - internet access providing is not a business for many companies (I worked in this business from 1998 till 2000) - it's hard.

And, on the other side - the dialup users should be separated from any hosting accounts... ispCP is a hosting control system/panel - yet...
If & when there is a good API for modules, maybe this will be a nice feature...

My two cents
Cheers, Joximu

RE: FreeRadius Server
Like Joximu, I've worked with an ISP for many years. I help establish and grow a small local isp into an australia wide isp. It's a good idea and all, but there is alot to it. Adding such features into ISPCP would be time consuming.

Once ISPCP has been around for a while and has multiserver setups and all, then it would be good idea for a central database to store accounts.

I know of 1 such server application that does this, and its called freeside (http://www.sisd.com/freeside/). I set this up on a spare machine once before. Took some time to get going and in the end, I just rebuilt the machine into something else.
