RE: ISPCP v1.0.0 stable is ready, testers needed
With step 9 of the update procedure you copy completely new db-key-files over the old (backuped) ones.
Quote:9. Copy /usr and /var directories into your system (you may make backups)
187 # cp -Rv /tmp/ispcp/usr/* /usr/
188 # cp -Rv /tmp/ispcp/var/* /var/ << this one
So the update script does not make the change, but the update itself, when following the guidelines. It's not really a bug, just a bad or missing description. Some admins may stumble over that which could be easily prevented with a sentence or two in the INSTALL file(s).

Simple please pay attention at what you say! As a team member I expect to be more circumspect at what you are saying. AGAIN take a look at step 7. THERE you copy DB-keys from OLD VERSION, version that you are using and overwrite files from new version. IF YOU STEP over at step 9 you loose those file.

Should I upgrade my setup from Etch to lenny before or after I upgrade to ispCP 1.0.0?

Right now I am at Etch with all updates and RC7.

It is better. This way you will have proftpd.conf from lenny (there are some difference). Please make sure that after upgrading to lanny all your services run and everithing is ok BEFORE starting to update ispcp.

@sci2tech I'm really sorry, in step 7 I just backed up the files, I did not overwrite the tmp files - my mistake.

No problem. Sorry for overreacting, but I`m really tired. Glad that we could find what was wrong Smile

How can we monitor the feedback being gathered here? Maybe a poll for people to vote if their upgrade went smooth or not?

Ideas please.

A pool to reflect what type of upgrade RCx->v1 it will be good.
