RE: What distro have you installed ispCP on?
haha - this is not the same.
We're talking about servers - do we?

if you are used to typ "rcap<tab> restart" then "/etc/init.d/apache2 restart" is more. This is only one example but if you have about 10 server running with the same linux distribution then a change to something else does take some time.

RE: What distro have you installed ispCP on?
Sure - I still use TAB, also on etch...!
it's only the change - my fingers almost know what to type and if there are some changes (if shorter or larger doesn't care) - it takes a while until you know the new os as good as the old.
And if you have not much time to play with it then you thinkl more than twice to switch.
IMHO!
:-)

in suse you have for every service a rcXXX file (symlink to /etc/init.d/XXX) - apache2 -k is good but if you try this with mysql: "mysql -k restart" won't function (ok, I didn't test :-)

But it's going to be offtopic :-)

Vote for SuSE 10.x, there won't be a 10.2-specific release

RE: What distro have you installed ispCP on?
I usually work with Fedora (at home, at work, on the servers I administrate...).
So at the beginning I was trying to install ispcp omega on a FC6.

I have some difficulty with the setup script... and after some adjustment I can install it succesfully. But in fact, when I'm using the web panel some things don't work...

As I can't know what is wrong, because I never use it in a normal way, I give up the FC6 for testing it on a Debian. So I have voted Etch.

I think I will keep it for the production server, it's for me the opportunity to be more familiar with a Debian, and I want something that work well without lot of tweaking. I like Fedora but I think that the priority is to have a control panel complete and stable for one distro. After that, others can follow...
